The fire sale continues in Ottawa, as The Senators have traded forward Vladislav Namestnikov to the Colorado Avalanche for a 4th round pick in the 2020 draft. Namestnikov can bring some much needed help to the Avs’ underwhelming penalty kill as Tyson Jost is slated to leave for some reason. I can’t see how replacing one player for the other does much of anything for the Avalanche, but one year Namestnikov scored 20 goals, so teams will forever hope to recapture that performance out of him. This is Namestnikov’s 4th team in his 6 year career in the NHL, so […]

The Ottawa Senators have traded their top scorer J. G. Pageau today to the New York Islanders for a ransom of NY’s 1st, 2nd round picks in the 2020 draft and a 3rd round pick in the 2021 draft. Criminal charges are pending in this heist of the year. Congratulations to Pageau who leaves the living, breathing, dumpster fire that is the Ottawa Senators organization. Instead, he will now join the boring as shit Islanders in their attempts to lull each of their opponents to sleep playing Barry Trotz’s version of the 1-2-2 trap. Pageau has put up career numbers […]
The Vegas Golden Knights have traded 28 year old center Cody Eakin to the Winnipeg Jets for a 4th round pick that can become a 3rd round pick in the 2020 draft if Eakin signs with the Jets or they make it to the playoffs. Eakin, a Winnipeg native, must be excited for the trade. He was seeing a diminished role with the Golden Knights as his production has slipped this year year starkly from his career high 22 goals and 41 points from last year to a measly 10 points. Eakin, who clearly has rooster DNA, will now get […]
Today, The Anaheim Ducks made a deal with The Boston Bruins to exchange their speedy, scoring winger Ondrej Kase for the dried out corpse of David Backes, Boston’s 2020 1st round pick, and defensive prospect Axel Andersson. Kase comes with a 2.6mil/year cap hit and is signed through next year as an expiring RFA. This gives the B’s the much needed speed and scoring for their middle 6. It also gives David Pastrnak a Czech friend to speak his native tongue and escape the vomit inducing Boston accent for a few moments each day. This is an incredible move for […]
Earlier today, a mere 12 hours after the Maple Leafs got dragged around PPG Paints Arena by the Penguins like a dog that shit on your new carpet, Kyle Dubas decided to address the teams god awful performance by trading for Florida Panthers forward Dennis Malgin. Soon to be restricted free agent Malgin is a career bottom 6 forward with good footspeed, small size, pretty average defensive sensibility and is fucking trash on faceoffs. In return for Malgin, the Panthers received Mason Marchment, a 6’4 200lb left winger, who is also on an expiring RFA contract. Marchment is still an […]
War is upon us! With the NHL All Star game 2 weeks in the rearview mirror, teams face down the final 20 games of the season and must decide who is all in and who must surrender the season and salvage any assets they can from their failed campaigns. The top dogs in the Eastern Conference are already in the throes of roster tinkering by stockpiling skill and depth players to push for a chance at the most precious trophy in all of professional sports. This year is shaping up to have more carnage than previous seasons as the entire […]
