The fire sale continues in Ottawa, as The Senators have traded forward Vladislav Namestnikov to the Colorado Avalanche for a 4th round pick in the 2020 draft. Namestnikov can bring some much needed help to the Avs’ underwhelming penalty kill as Tyson Jost is slated to leave for some reason. I can’t see how replacing one player for the other does much of anything for the Avalanche, but one year Namestnikov scored 20 goals, so teams will forever hope to recapture that performance out of him. This is Namestnikov’s 4th team in his 6 year career in the NHL, so he’s like good, but not good enough that you want to keep him around.
The most interesting part of this entire trade is that I just realized Vladdy looks almost exactly like Graham Rogers, the whiney bitch from the Showtime series Ray Donovan. I’m going to chance a bet here that Namestnikov pulls more tail for looking like the dude from a tv show than he does for playing hockey. Just a guess.
